LIGHTING + SHADOWS

Going back to basics I've started reading the Lighting for Interior Design by Malcolm Innes that explains in deep understanding of the importance of lighting, highly recommend to anyone interested.

Exploring lighting within 3D modelling (specifically Blender) renders in cycles. A simple set up of just a box room with an arch doorway, this one above is a simple point light behind the camera.

Innes mentions in his book how often shadows can be overlooked in design schemes so concentrated on location and depth. The render above uses directional light, I purposely opted for a cooler tone for the lighting and diffusing it to give a more softer effect against the chair.

Sourcing natural lighting from the moon to illuminate the back of the chair to highlight the outline and cast the shadows forward.
