SONY MUSIC - MUSIC PIPES

HOW CAN SONY INVOKE EMOTIONAL INDIVIDUAL CONNECT TO THE PUBLIC?


The project was to create an engaging, memorable retail experience that enhances brand values / customer interaction. The experience should be considered temporary i.e. can be de-mounted without excessive repair to the host structure.


“Sony Music Enterprise is a global company that has reached millions of people everyday at nearly anytime. With huge stars such as Beyoncé and Celine Dion there are no ears that they haven’t touched. ”

Sony has being a world provider for the music entertainment world is offering the chance for our guest to remove themselves from the daily distractions in our lives.


Entrance



The guest walk through the entrance are automatically are greeted by the wooden walkway. This walkway guides the guest through the space and effectively hiding the main attraction. This event allows guest to embrace music in a new way whilst promoting the Sony Music brand to a wider audience.

Materiality for this production has been carefully selected to allow the new more sustainable conscious crowd to participate with each material either sustainably researched or can be deconstructed and reused.


Wooden Arch Walkway


This archway is a statement piece that introduces the crowd to the attraction in a iconic fashion that can only work with the Sony Brand. The vast contrast from the rustic more urban walkthrough to the well known modern sleek image that Sony has persevered for many years.


I intended for this space to be go to space for people to take photos and share on social media.


Music Pipes


The the main attraction of this event - The music pipes. Sony has produced the first ever large scale music pipes that allow multiple people to duck their heads underneath to be immersed by the music.


For people who don't understand the concept I would like to ask when was the last time you purely listened to music? Not as a background noise to fill the empty void during works hours, or even a motivator for a rigorous workout. When is the last time you purely put a song on sat down and listened without doing anything else?


In this day and age, it is very rare to find a chance to listen to music without being preoccupied with something else. In has become a norm for many to use it as a secondary distraction, but that isn't the original purpose of music.


This event brings into question if we are truly listening to music or just hearing.
